Recently, Hog Roast Wimbourne Minster were hired to provide catering for a canapés and cocktail party for a group of friends. The group wanted to host a party for 40 guests in the garden of one of their homes, which would also be hosting a DJ and a make-shift dancefloor for the event! The menu for the event needed to be relatively formal, including canapés to suit the theme of the evening. Our catering manager Jack was asked to provide our classic hog roast menu, which had been adjusted to include a starter with canapés for the guests to choose from. This was not a problem, as every menu can be altered to suit your needs!
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Wimbourne Minster team arrived at the home in advance of the 6:00 pm mealtime. We began by roasting the hog and ensuring that it was cooked to perfection, while we got to work serving the canapés. For the canapés, guests chose from a selection of 5 dishes: mini fish and chips, an Indian selection, mini pizzas, duck breast, and fresh salmon. This set a formal tone for the evening and was a perfect accompaniment to the cocktails!
For the main course, the guests enjoyed roasted pork served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade chips, and fresh applesauce. This was a nutritious meal with something for every guest to enjoy!
