Some of the best wedding receptions aren’t held in grand ballrooms or fancy venues, but right at home. That was exactly the case for one couple in Poole, who decided to celebrate their marriage with family and friends in the comfort of their own back garden. To make the day even more special, they brought in Hog Roast Poole, and Catering Manager Jack and his team were only too happy to deliver a feast worthy of the occasion.
For this intimate wedding of 30 guests, the couple opted for the classic Whole Roasted Pig with perfectly crispy crackling. The golden pig made for an impressive centrepiece, and the scent alone had everyone excited for dinner. Served with apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing, it was everything you’d want from a traditional hog roast. Guests could build their own plates with a selection of bread rolls and wraps, including gluten-free options to keep everyone catered for.
To complement the hog, Jack and his team prepared a fresh mixed salad and a crunchy gourmet coleslaw, providing the perfect balance alongside the rich flavours of the roast. For non-meat eaters, Hog 
Roast Poole served up their homemade vegetarian and vegan alternative — grilled vegetable skewers with halloumi for vegetarians (and without for vegans), served with wraps, tzatziki, and sweet chilli sauce. It was hearty, colourful, and delicious, proving that everyone could enjoy the meal together.
The couple were thrilled with how smoothly everything went, sharing afterwards how “the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially with our coeliac guests who were brought up first to avoid any cross contamination.” It was details like this that made the day extra special, ensuring that every guest felt looked after. Not only was the food a hit, but the team’s organisation meant service flowed seamlessly from start to finish.
By the end of the evening, guests were happily full, and there was still a tray of leftovers to enjoy later. For Jack and his team, it was a joy to help create such a relaxed, memorable celebration.
