A local community centre in Dorset contacted Hog Roast Sturminster Newton earlier this month to arrange catering for their monthly community get-together. The centre runs from donations and the community members are asked to donate what they can once a month and come and enjoy a delicious meal as a group, along with some crafts and sporting activities. This month, our catering manager Jack was hired to provide a Gourmet BBQ menu for the event. this is a great option for a community event as it can easily be served to large groups and it includes a large variety of dishes, allowing every guest to create their perfect meal!
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Sturminster Newton team arrived at the centre in advance of the 7:00pm mealtime. We began by grilling the main dishes, which included succulent sausages, British beef burgers, halloumi and vegetable skewers, vegan sausages, and marinated chicken kebabs. As well as a variety of mains, we also served fresh bread rolls, gluten-free bread rolls, seasonal salad dishes, crunchy coleslaw, and homemade chips. Altogether, this created a delicious meal that was served buffet-style to the guests, allowing them to choose exactly what they wanted to enjoy. The event was a success, and it was great to see so many local people coming together to enjoy an evening of good food, sunshine, and fun activities.
