For Sarah and Mark’s 25th wedding anniversary, the couple wanted to do something special with their family and friends to commemorate the occasion. Earlier in 2022, the couple attended a wedding that was catered for by Hog Roast Shaftesbury and they loved the catering so much that they hired us to serve a meal for their anniversary event! The event was set to take place on local farmland that had been set up with a beautifully decorated marquee, including a dance floor, DJ and large round tables set for 80 guests. For the menu, our team was asked to serve our alfresco menu, as it is a great choice for a summer party.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Shaftesbury team arrived at the venue with enough time to prepare for the 8:00pm mealtime. We got to work on preparing the dishes while the event organisers were setting up the DJ booth and decorating the marquee. Once the guests were seated, we began the menu by serving the starters, which consisted of delicious sharing platters for the tables to enjoy. The platters included gourmet meats and cheeses, salad dishes, fresh bread, and dips, to create a variety of tastes and textures.
Following the starter, the guests enjoyed a classic Hog Roast Shaftesbury main course. The star of the meal was the slow-roasted hog that had been cooked on the day and served with fresh vegetables, roasted potatoes, and all of the trimmings.
To finish the meal, the guests enjoyed fresh cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. All of the desserts were served with fresh cream and berries to create a dish that looked and tasted delicious!
