Our alfresco menu is the newest addition to the Hog Roast Wimbourne Minster catalogue but quickly became one of the most popular options. It includes three courses of incredible dishes, ranging from sharing platters to a delicious slow-roasted hog. There is something for everyone to enjoy and always plenty to go around, regardless of the size of your event! Our catering manager Jack is an expert when it comes to wedding menus, so it was no surprise that he was asked to provide catering for an Alfresco wedding during July of 2021. This is an incredibly popular wedding for summer receptions, especially those taking place close to the beach, such as this Dorset wedding! Danny and his partner had planned for their ceremony to place on the beach in the sunshine, before moving to a local function room for an afternoon of great catering. After looking through our menus it was decided that our alfresco package was an ideal choice since it fits in well with the boho/casual theme of their big day!
On the day of their wedding, the Hog Roast Wimbourne Minster team arrived early to prepare the menu. Once the guests were seated, we began by serving the sharing platters, which consisted of a selection of gourmet cheeses, sliced meats, and fresh bread and salad. This is a great summery starter and has something for every guest to enjoy!
Following the starter was a classic Hog Roast Wimbourne Minster main course of a slow-roasted hog. The hog was served with all of the trimmings, including sage and onion stuffing, roasted baby new potatoes, and seasonal vegetables. Overall, this was a tasty and nutritious meal that went down a treat!
For the desserts, the guests chose from profiteroles and summer pudding, with each dish served with fresh English cream. This was ideal for guests who didn’t want to have the wedding cake that had been provided by the couple.
