The latter is what the Hog Roast Wincanton team were catering for this past weekend, as we joined a valued Wincanton local who has spent the better part of the last few years teaching many residents and attendees of the Wincanton Swim Club how to swim.
No doubt many in the area will know who we are talking about. After a successful stint as a swim teacher for customers both young and old, our featured guest of this week is finally hanging it all up to go and enjoy their retirement at last. Having drummed up quite the appetite with all that swimming through the years, it was about time to go all out with their retirement celebrations and bring in a bountiful feast from Hog Roast Wincanton!
A pig may not be so great at swimming, but it is great for a roast to celebrate your retirement! With centuries of proof to back us up, there’s little reason to teach our pigs any new tricks now; our authentically made hog roast is just as perfect as it ever was for an event. Cooked in the traditional spit style, it not only tastes incredible, it looks the part for any big celebration too.
And what a celebration it was for our hog roast to be a part of! Having helped touch many lives over the years, our guest’s retirement drew in 100 attendees – friends, family, colleagues, and even a couple thankful new adept swimmers who only have one person to thank for their skills! Toasts aplenty were made; roasts aplenty were enjoyed! We had our hog roast finely carved and hand pulled for use as a filling to rolls and wraps along with fresh accompaniments of mixed salad, coleslaw, grilled veg and halloumi skewers, and our BBQ marinated pulled jackfruit as a vegan alternative to our signature pork roast.
