When we came to this industry as event caterers some thirty years ago, we never could have imagined quite how busy our summers would have become with weddings alone. The summer season on a caterer’s calendar is wedding season. Everyone wants their special day when the sun is brightest and the weather warmest. It makes for better photos, a better atmosphere, and greater opportunities for outdoor dining services from yours truly. All summer long, this year and just about all thirty previous, the Hog Roast Totton team have been inundated with your wedding events – and we could not be any happier about.
Coming into August and the finish line is in sight, but that doesn’t mean we’re slowing down any time soon! As proof, this past weekend was once again another big wedding weekend, with a brilliant dining service right here in Totton for 60 guests. For the occasion, our head chef Jack went with a classic of our wedding dining menus – the hog roast. A winner and our namesake for very good reason, the hog roast is a simple yet unique and spectacular experience to add to your wedding’s dining. We make it in the authentic spit style for the utmost in style and spectacle; guests not only get something exceptional to eat, they also get quite the show in the lead up as our roast turns and cooks away in a blaze of fiery and smoky aroma. For this wedding, our roast was then served with sage and onion stuffing, Hog Roast Totton’s own crispy crackling, tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed leaves, coleslaw, freshly made chips, and a veggie alternative of grilled veg and halloumi skewers with tzatziki dip and sweet chilli sauce.
The summer wedding season still has some distance to go, and Hog Roast Totton will be there every stretch of the way!
