If ever there were any worries that our momentum from the summer wedding season would tail off, September has quickly put that to bed as the Hog Roast Blandford Forum team have been out and about at weddings still over the last few week. One which we would like to tell you about comes from this past weekend, a glorious and luxurious wedding held at the famed Shillingstone House.
Shillingstone House will probably be recognisable to most in Blandford Forum; an incredible feat of 19th century architecture that still stands as a family home to this day, Shillingstone House is open to wedding bookings and more throughout this season and the next. Having been able to cook and serve on the house’s excellent garden grounds, the Hog Roast Blandford Forum team can attest to just how special a venue it is. Our team had a wonderful time out in grassy green serving up our southern slow roasted delights to a wedding party of 70. Each guest was equally swept up in the brilliance of this stately home and the specialness of the occasion, as bride and groom tied the knot and commenced some fantastic celebrations.
To match the style of this incredible venue, we figured our southern slow roasted meats would do well, along with fresh and cooling sides to take the heat off our most spicy meaty mains and hot sauces. With our southern slow roast the name of the game is cooking well marinated meats low and slow to really intensify the flavour. This way, our BBQ marinades and spicy dry rubs really come to the fore and leave a strong lasting impression on each guest. For those looking to up the heat some more, we also have a range of very hot sauces to try. Knowing that some cooling will be needed, we then provide creamy accompaniments like our mac and cheese, gourmet coleslaw, and the comfort of our seasonal veg and fries. The 70 guests in attendance couldn’t get enough of the menu, coming back to the Hog Roast Blandford Forum team for seconds and in some cases even thirds!
