Another way of mixing things up came to our menus just this past weekend, over the summer bank holiday, where the Hog Roast Poole team provided a very summery and tasty gyros lunch to a joint father and son birthday celebration. Yes, you heard us right – a gyros lunch. We took our classical hog roast and we turned it into a delicious pulled pork filling to go into a fresh gyros, complete with your typical tomato and salad accompaniments for that Mediterranean taste. We’ve always valued our hog roast precisely because of how versatile it can be. Change up the seasoning, how you carve or hand pull it, and suddenly you have several different types of dishes – each brilliant in their own way. For us, a gyros menu was something quite new, an experiment that we were extremely excited to try. We reckon the results spoke for themselves.
The party of 100 guests piled their way into our gyros wraps, coming back for seconds and sometimes even thirds. With options of pork or fresh lamb, there was plenty to go around. Add in our vegan BBQ pulled jackfruit and there was even more to enjoy for each and every guest. Satisfying the tastes of both a 30th birthday and a 60th doesn’t sound like an easy or straightforward task, but our gyros wraps proved that Hog Roast Pool will always come up with goods, no matter the menu nor the event!
