There are a few birthdays that are worth going all out for. Obviously we all remember (or rather don’t) our 18ths when we could finally enter into adulthood and do all the things that we’d been missing out on. A 50th is another that always deserves a massive celebration, as do quite a few of the decade turns. But the next is our 21st – a reason to go all out with the celebrations as you enter into your twenties proper.
Obviously a little less culturally significant here than in the US – because you can already drink at 18 – the 21st is still nonetheless growing in popularity for birthdays that you make a big deal out of. At the very least, that was certainly the memo given to the birthday celebration that Hog Roast West Tytherley headed out to last weekend.
With a whopping 100 guests, we estimated that nearly a fifth of the population of West Tytherley had to have been in attendance. With that kind of demand, we knew that we had to provide a dining experience to match. Of course, with Hog Roast West Tytherley you are always going to get that and then some, as our traditional roast dining provides the style, the spectacle, and the taste!
Head chef Jack knew that our signature hog roast was just the thing to impress at such a massive occasion. Cooked in the authentic spit style, it has all the fireworks necessary of a massive 21st celebration. Served along with the crispy golden crackling that comes out of the roasting process, our homemade sage and onion stuffing, and refreshing apple sauce, it was an instant winner on birthday weekend. But that wasn’t the end of the dining; further veggie options came in brilliant BBQ marinade pulled jackfruit, which comes extremely close to the look, taste, and texture of our namesake roast. All that was needed thereafter was the sides: mixed salad, gourmet coleslaw, and plenty of gluten-free rolls and wraps to pile your roast high on.
