We have an excellent wedding event to tell you all about from this past weekend at Hog Roast Bournemouth. The wedding season is here, and the events just keep on trucking along from week to week. Blessed by plenty of sun so far, it has been a great wedding season already!
This wedding, for Hollie and Sam, was a wonderful Saturday spent out in the Bournemouth sun where we catered both a drinks and canape reception, and a superb southern slow roast dinner. Head chef Jack and the rest of the Hog Roast Bournemouth arrived at the spectacular venue early in the day and immediately got to work prepping each of our fresh canape bites and southern slow roast mains. With our canapes, fresh ingredients made from scratch is the name of the game. Come 2pm, immediately following the wedding ceremony, the Hog Roast Bournemouth team were ready with platters of pan seared fillets of beef served in mini Yorkshire puddings, duck spring rolls, tomato and halloumi crostini, and Scottish smoked salmon slices served on fresh brown bread. These platters were great for serving out in the sun while guests mingled and congratulated the newlyweds.
In the meantime, our southern slow roast meats cooked away for a 5pm serving time. Low and slow has always been the game with our southern slow roast – it’s in the name, after all! The result for our pulled quarter of minted lamb, Texas style beef brisket, and Cajun spiced chicken thighs is meat that is tender, juicy, and bursting with flavour. These meaty delights were served with a mix of sweet barbecue glazes and intensive hot sauces, for that authentic southern flavour. Joining our main was an alternative of grilled veg and halloumi skewers, and accompanying sides of fresh Greek salad, seasonal vegetables, and roasted new potatoes.
