When you’ve got an extra day of the weekend with a bank holiday Monday, and you’ve got the sun shining with record breaking temperatures, you’ve simply got to make the most of it.
Luckily for one of our customers in Pool on Monday, making the most of it was most certainly well achieved. With friends and family off, our customer opted to invite just about everyone they knew round (totalling about 200 guests all told) to celebrate their daughters birthday. With so many guests in attendance, they then of course required the expertise of a quality caterer like Hog Roast Poole to handle the dining.
Having 200 guests to feed and a blazing hot day might otherwise pose a challenge, but at Hog Roast Poole we’re ready for the heat – after all, we’ve spent our lives in kitchens. One hog roast alone could feed a hundred; couple it with our freshly made sides, rolls and wraps, and you’ve got fresh, quality dining for 200 easy! That’s enough for seconds if not thirds, too!
As guests settle in and fanned themselves from the intense heat, the Hog Roast Poole chefs were hard at work preparing our signature pork roast. The long cooking time gives us plenty opportunity to prep the accompaniments, so while the pork roasted away our head chef Jack got to work prepping our homemade sage and onion stuffing, fresh apple sauce, grilled veg and halloumi skewers, BBQ pulled jackfruit as a vegan alternative, and crispy crackling cut from the pork skin on the hog roast. Come serving time at 17.15, we had everything hot and ready to go!
Guests were wonderful with us right the way through the event. It might have been easy for the heat to get to some, but spirits remained high right the way through the event, helped of course by the addition of our good comfort dining. The birthday girl also looked to have had a great time, and we can only thank the family for choosing Hog Roast Poole for such a wonderful occasion on a perfect bank holiday Monday!
