When Helen decided to throw a retirement party for her husband Eric, she knew it had to be nothing short of spectacular. After years of turning down retirement offers, Eric finally agreed with Helen that it was time to embrace the next chapter of his life. And what better way to kick off this new adventure than with a party to remember?
Helen pulled out all the stops, inviting family, friends, and Eric’s co-workers to celebrate at the local golf club’s function hall. With 200 guests in attendance, it was bound to be an unforgettable affair, and Hog Roast Cerne Abbas was honoured to be a part of the festivities.
For the occasion, Helen chose our Southern Slow Roast Menu, a mouth-watering selection that would satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. Under the expert care of our catering manager, Jack, the meats were prepared to perfection. Rubbed down in our secret marinade and cooked low and slow over real flames, the fall-off-the-bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, BBQ pork butt, and Texan 24-hour beef brisket were nothing short of heavenly.
But the feast didn’t stop there! Our array of sauces, including a smokey sweet BBQ glaze, legendary hickory bourbon BBQ sauce, and fiery Cajun hot pepper sauce, added an extra kick to every bite. And for those opting for a meat-free option, Hog Roast Cerne Abbas whipped up a delicious vegan pulled jackfruit steeped in hickory BBQ sauce, served on a bun with crunchy coleslaw.
As for the sides, guests were treated to our Memphis-style crunchy coleslaw, creamy mac and cheese, and flavourful potato salad, rounding out the meal with wholesome, flavour-bursting accompaniments.
Of course, Helen didn’t stop at the menu. She also infused the atmosphere with decorations and entertainment, including a mentalist who added a touch of wonder and excitement to the celebration. And as the evening unfolded, it was clear that everyone was having a blast, especially Eric, who relished the opportunity to spend time with loved ones, indulge in delicious food, and toast to the beginning of his golden years.
In the end, Eric’s retirement bash was everything Helen hoped it would be and more – and Hog Roast Cerne Abbas was proud to be a part of it all.
