Celebrations were in order at the beginning of the month when Queen Elizabeth II marked 70 years on the throne with her Platinum Jubilee! As Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, the entire country was keen to join in the four-day bank holiday festivities, which, of course, meant Hog Roast Stalbridge’s caterers were rushed off their feet with all sorts of bookings.
From lively street parties to tranquil garden parties and everything in between, our band of brilliant catering staff had been called in to assist Dorset residents with their revelries; and we couldn’t have been happier about it!
In honour of the occasion, one of our clients, Paula, had organised a royalty-themed tea party event, which took place in her back garden. Our catering manager, Jack, was ecstatic that Paula trusted Hog Roast Stalbridge with this unique event, and to ensure she and her guests received a fitting banquet, he helped the client to come up with a custom menu for the occasion.
The chosen feast largely centred around our Hog Roast Dining menu, which delivers a formal feast, complete with canapés, two main course options, sides and desserts. This menu was ideal for Paula’s tea party. The only thing she asked was that the portions were made smaller and more delicate to allow the guests to experience all of the foods on offer. In addition to this, she wanted Hog Roast Stalbridge to include platters of finger sandwiches on the menu, which offered guests the choice of cucumber, coronation chicken, jam, ham and brie, smoked salmon or egg and cress sarnies.
In preparation for Paula’s luncheon, Hog Roast Stalbridge spent all morning lovingly cooking the free-range pig, English lamb and grilled vegetable skewers for the main course, which were paired with gourmet coleslaw, mixed fries and fresh salads. The team also whipped up five beautifully presented canapé options, which were served to the guests as they arrived, along with a glass of bubbly.
Paula and her guests, who went all-out with their ensembles, had a wonderful time celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee! They loved being treated like royalty by our Hog Roast Stalbridge caterers, and they were thrilled with the quality of food provided!
