Wedding season may be coming to a close, but Hog Roast Christchurch is still incredibly busy catering for wedding events and receptions. This August, we were hired to cater for Elara and Martin’s big day at a beautiful coastal venue in Dorset. The couple wanted to enjoy a wedding day that focused on the natural beauty of their home town and the venue that they selected was perfect for emphasising this since it had a beautiful outdoor area and a wonderful view of the coast. For the menu, Hog Roast Christchurch was hired to provide a simple catering package, with the guests enjoying a classic main course followed by several dessert options. Our catering manager Jack worked with the couple to create the perfect menu for the occasion and soon everyone was happy with what we planned to provide.
On the day of the event, Jack and the Hog Roast Christchurch team arrived at the venue in the morning to prepare for the midday serving time. For the main meal, we provided a delicious slow-roasted hog, which had been expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Additionally, we provided homemade chips and a selection of fresh salad dishes to create a varied and delicious main course. For dessert, the guests chose between sticky toffee pudding and individual cheesecakes, with each dish accompanied by English cream and fresh berries. The final course looked and tasted incredible and was the perfect way to end the menu.
