Mum-to-be Jessica got in contact with Hog Roast Boscombe a few weeks ago following her 20-week scan, which revealed the gender of her baby.
Instead of asking the ultrasound technician to share the news out loud, Jessica, like many parents these days, had requested that the gender be written down on a piece of paper and placed in an envelope to be kept secret until the day of her gender reveal party, which took place on Sunday!
The only person who knew the contents of the envelope prior to the celebration was Jessica’s best friend and professional baker, Amy, who had offered to bake a gender reveal cake for the event. Jessica was so grateful for her friend’s help, but she still needed some proper food to keep her guests from going hungry, and with that in mind she decided to approach Hog Roast Boscombe and ask for our help with the catering.
As always, our team was thrilled to be of assistance and Hog Roast Boscombe’s catering manager, Jack, was able to help Jessica find the perfect menu in no time. The menu she selected was our Gourmet BBQ Menu, which has lots of variety, making it a great choice for when you need to feed people with varying food preferences.
Not only was she impressed with the variety on offer, but Jessica was delighted when we revealed that all of our dishes are made from scratch, using fresh ingredients from local farms, which adds to the immense flavour of our food.
On the day of the event, we spent the hours leading up to her guests’ arrival preparing the spread, which included handmade British beef burgers, gourmet sausages, chicken kebabs, BBQ marinated spareribs and grilled vegetable skewers with sides of Greek salad, coleslaw and mixed sweet potato and traditional fries.
The laid-back feast was even better than Jessica pictured it would be and the guests had no trouble finding something delicious to munch on either! When everyone was seated and happily munching away on something tasty, Jessica took the opportunity to cut into the cake, which revealed a bright blue sponge! Everyone cheered at the realisation that Jessica will be having a boy in a few months’ time and offered her their congratulations.
